Summary

A series of sustainable dairy farm projects have been implemented in the Province of Drenthe. The activities were carried out with a “life cycle approach”, aiming to support farmers in optimizing their farming system. Nutrient recycling and improving soil biodiversity were key to the approach.

Summary

The City of Prato’s strategy targets the construction sector, aiming at reducing and reusing construction and demolition waste. The City as developed measures to regenerate degraded and marginalised parts of the city with a “5 R” approach (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, Residual treatment), engaging in a number of partnerships at both local and European level. Circular economy in Prato has been integrated in the city’s Strategic Operational Plan, aiming not only at urban regeneration but also at an improvement of social cohesion and community life.

Since 2009 the City of Gothenburg has promoted a better land use oriented at food production, through organic and urban agriculture.
The municipality developed many activities in 5 focus areas: food production, food consumption, food deliveries and logistics, resource efficiency nutrient circulation and water for food. Specific attention is paid to capitalising on Gothenburg’s large availability of unused land, turning it into a resource for local and organic food production.
