Summary

This initiative presents the different steps that were taken by the SYCTOM to increase the recovery rate of bulky waste over the past 10 years. It will especially focus on the modifications brought to the sorting processes, with the use of pre-sorting centres to remove part of the contamination.

Summary

The objective of the Regional Programme for a Circular Economy (Programme Régional d’Economie circulaire – PREC) is to encourage the transformation of the linear economy into a circular economy, developing a strategic and operational vision of the environment as a resource creating local employment. This can be achieved in particular by relocating economic activity through short circuits in order to obtain a chain of value as complete as possible for the Brussels Capital-Region.

Summary

Through the project LOWaste (Local waste market for second life products), Ferrara is experiencing a pattern of circular economy based on waste prevention, products reuse and material recycling supported by a public-private partnership framework. Starting from some pilot studies and tests, the project laid down the foundation for – and has seen the emergence of – a genuine local circular economy district with a focus on waste management in a circular economy.
