Summary

In order to spread industrial symbiosis concepts and its advantages to the 2,500 manufacturer companies forming part of the industrial area corridor of Barberà del Vallès – Sabadell, the two municipalities are working together to share resources and implement a common industrial symbiosis program. The main goal is to establish the basis of a new economic model based in more collaborative participation of the companies to maximize its resource efficiency.

Summary

"The medication prolongs life” (Il farmaco allunga la vita): The Genoese Pharmacies owned by the Municipality, in collaboration with the Association Gigi Ghirotti, are engaged in the collection of unused, valid, non-heat-sensitive medicines and with undamaged packages. The material are handed over to the eight community pharmacies and used by poor patients.

Summary

The Scottish Institute for Remanufacture (SIR) is funded by the Scottish Funding Council and Zero Waste Scotland. Hosted at the University of Strathclyde, SIR is a pan Scotland centre of excellence to increase innovation in remanufacturing. By stimulating and co-funding collaborative projects that address industry challenges it enables companies to increase reuse, repair and remanufacture in their manufacturing operations.
