Disposable nappies represent 2% of total municipal waste in San Sebastian. The objective of the initiative that took place in 2011 was therefore to reduce this type of waste and promote the use of reusable nappies.

Summary

Circulus-Berkel, in partnership with municipal governments, organized an awareness raising and training program focusing on household waste, such as organic waste, kitchen waste and PMD (plastic, metal and cardboard drink packaging). The focus was placed on behavoural modification through communication. Additionally, an experiment was conducted on avoiding kitchen waste.
